 Hi

I was searching for the exact pharse "to be involed" (with quotation marks) in my files.

Problem is that the small words "to" and "be" seem to be ignored.

In fact, my result is all files containing "involved" only.

In older versions of Copernic, one could search for exact phrases with small words such as "to be involved".

Has this feature be removed?

Or is there another way to make the search?

Thanks

Olivier

Hi there!

I see Francis responded at the time privately, but since this can be a common question, I wanted to share his answer in the public forum as well:

In cds you can't do a search with the words listed here. These words will be interpreted as spaces. Cds will not index these words.
"a", "an", "and", "are", "as", "at", "be", "but", "by", "for", "if", "in", "into", "is", "it", "no", "not", "of", "on", "or", "such", "that", "the", "their", "then", "there", "these", "they", "this", "to", "was", "will", "with"

Please note that certain other characters are ignored by CDS, and thus considered as white spaces. They are:

period .
comma ,
semicolon ;
underscore _
equal sign =

slash /
backslash \
ampersand &
left parenthesis (
right parenthesis )

vertical bar |
left square bracket [
right square bracket ]
left curly brace {
right curly brace }

exclamation mark !
less-than sign <
greater-than sign >
at sign @
quotation mark "

apostrophe '
colon :
plus sign +
hyphen -
question mark ?

asterisk *
appendix ~

So, if you're searching for  “exact phrase”  CDS will return results accordingly to the above restrictions.

Yep, another "improvement" that is not helpful.
