Dear Copernic team,

with the recent Copernic update, my WIN 10 / Outlook 2019 environment crashed: Copernic does obviously no longer recognize the main Exchange account in my Outlook, and the corresponding .OST file can also not be added manually (since only .PST files are accepted):

RESULT: all Emails in my exchange account are no longer indexed!

HELP!

Thanks,

Peter

I see Francis from the Technical Support team responded privately via our ticketing system. For others that would benefit from the information, I have copy/pasted the pertinent details from the exchange, below:

I suggest to use another Outlook Plug-in in Copernic Desktop Search.
1 - Go to cds menu Tools > Options > Advanced. Look for {Select Outlook Plugin} Choose, 'Native Plug-in' in the list.

2 - Go back to main view in order to save the change.

3 - Restart Outlook and restart Copernic Desktop Search.

4 - Make sure to completely disable the Copernic Desktop Search Outlook Add-in in Outlook.
The Copernic Add-in in Outlook must be disabled when using the Native Plug-In.

5 - Go back to CDS and update the emails index. The index update options are located under Copernic menu Tools.

If you use Microsoft Exchange, your emails may stored in the cloud (in a virtual storage over the network). To correctly detect and index your emails , you must enable cached mode in Outlook as described in this article:

https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Turn-on-Cached-Exchange-Mode-7885af08-9a60-4ec3-850a-e221c1ed0c1c?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US

Thanks for the info, it helped – although in a different way as proposed:
Copernic was set to “Native Outlook”… so I switched to the Copernic Add In – and see: all previously disappeared Outlook folders re-appeared in the search list…
May be that helps in other cases.

https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Turn-on-Cached-Exchange-Mode-7885af08-9a60-4ec3-850a-e221c1ed0c1c?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US

Newly installed CDS with outlook extensions activated, bu no outlook folders can be indexed. The program suggests that I have to activate the extension first. Strange.
