Scan Priority Options Across all Listed Objects

I have 300 GB of fairly static files spanning across a few included folder-paths, also I have a large People Contact directory that takes forever to cycle through during each scanning schedule. Could a drop-down option for Index priority be introduced covering options: High, Normal, Low, and Manual  - i.e. Manual for my static files; but I also have slow-changing files that could be benefit from Low priority setting. Note, Manual priority would also be an elegant way of dealing with externally attached drives. 
Aside, I don't want to mess around with default scanning schedules (Plus, its not granular enough).

Plus, there would be numerous advantages for prioritizing scans across certain SharePoint portals (Some high, and some Manual = For static libraries of reference-only files)
