This topic has been posted and answered sometime ago, but the "best answer" solution doesn't work. Specifically, the ADD A REFINEMENT feature does NOT have the option to select FOLDER as a refinement. I'm running V8.3.4

You can type the folder name (ex: documents) in the System Folder refinement. Alternatively, you can choose "browse" and browse to the folder you want to index.
