CDS stopped fully starting.  It started to come up and then went away.  I then uninstalled it and the plan was to reinstall to see if that fixed the issue.  The problem is I can't figure out how to reinstall without buying another package.  I'm guessing there's an easy solution.  Any thoughts would be appreciated.

For the "Authentications count exceeded" message, notify us at support@copernic.com and we will release the license for you to install it onto your new device.

Having a similar problem to Repasi. Reloaded windows and now CDS says authentications count exceeded.

licence should be current until 2025

After updating to the latest version, 8.2.1 (build 15482), indexing became unreliable.

I have solved most of the problems but one. A link to a Dropbox document on the cloud now does not work correctly. It always fails to open the document, saying "cannot find xxx directory."

Hi,

Copernic Desktop Search had to be reinstalled due to a motherboard replacement.

Unfortunately, I cannot activate the LicenseKey. (My license is valid until 05/06/2023)

To George Hogan :

Hi Jean-Marc,

Thanks for your suggestions.

As it turned out, Tony at Copernic Support correctly diagnosed my problem as a corrupt index which, with his help, I was able to fix the problem.

Thanks again.

Dear David ,

You could dig into the CDS Log files and find some hints to go further like : how was the configuration of your original installation ?

Look into :

C:\Users\??????\AppData\Local\Copernic\DesktopSearch\Logs

or through the other CDS files :

C:\Users\??????\AppData\Local\Copernic\DesktopSearch

Good luck and best regards

Jean-Marc

My Windows username hasn't changed in many years.

It might be the same problem I encountered.

Are you logged under the same Windows Username as when you first installed CDS ?

Do I need to uninstall/reinstall?

If so, how do I do that?

I have the same problem as G

I had a similar problem when CDS stopped working due to Google new regulations for Login.

Somehow I now found in the logs that it was using my older username.

Creating a new "local" user with the same name and without the Googling synchronisation, resolved the problem and I was Instantly able to activate CDS by importing  the license file. It even offered to update to the latest version.

However, I was not able to import my indexes (2.35 Gb) and it started to build it again, which will be very much time consuming.

Hope this comment might give you a hint...
