I reinstall my computer regularly and despite following the instructions to uninstall to transfer the licence every time I get this error on reinstalling. It is incredibly annoying having to contact you every time even when I follow the instructions. Can you please release my licence and also please fix your process to transfer licences so I don;t have to keep doing this,
thanks,
Darren.

I agree strongly with Darren; please fix your process to transfer licenses so we don't have to keep doing this.
I'm currently installing a new office computer that could be done and handed over today, but due to the lack of Copernic on the new computer I and my customer have to wait for a manual license process.
You state "This is normal because Copernic licenses are bound to the computer name. When you reinstall, it changes so the license gets deactivated so you need to contact us to release the old computer name that is activated."
So unbound it from the computer name when the license is removed from the application. That is the standard in most other professional applications. What even is the point of being able to remove the license from the application interface, if it does not query the license server to be unbound?
Kind regards

Tony from Technical Support responded privately via our messaging system but this is a common question so I have included his part of the answer that is not specific to the clients' information.

You may contact us to release that license at support@copernic.com
