For some time now, the Copernic Desktop Search Connector extension for Google Chrome has had this warning in the Chrome web store "This extension is no longer available because it doesn't follow best practices for Chrome extensions."

The extension (version 6.0.0.5) seems to continue working for me. Is this extension no longer supported by Copernic? Will there be any further updates?

The newly posted updated Version 8.0.0.1 of the extension, dated August 8, 2025, works again with Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.

In Google Chrome, Version 138.0.7204.101 (Official Build) (64-bit), I now get this message re Copernic Desktop Search Connector:

"This extension was turned off because it is no longer supported. Chrome recommends that you remove it."

I can not turn on the extension. The only options are to leave it off or to remove it.

In the Chrome web store:

"This extension is no longer available because it doesn't follow best practices for Chrome extensions."

Is the extension still supported?
