Open a file or a folder from the results

Open a file

When you find what you have been looking for, you can open the file in its associated application directly.

• Select the file you want to open.
• Right-click on the file, click Open.

Note: You can open the file by double-clicking on the result in the search results.

A file won’t open at times if it was indexed on a removable drive that still shows up in the index. In such instances, double clicking on the file won’t open it, but instead will show all the files indexed in that particular folder. Since that folder is not available, none of the files will open either. The solution is to be sure that the files and folder still remain in the location originally indexed. You may need to reindex your files and exclude that removable drive in Tools > Options > Files.

When you find what have have been looking for, you can open the folder where it is located.

• Select the item inside the folder you want to open the folder.
• Right-click on the item, click Open Folder.
