Copernic 6 - application crashing immediately on Win 11

Dear all,

since late December, my version of Copernic 6 does not load at all in Windows 11. Both autostart in Windows and manual starting the application (regardless if run as administrator) make the CDS service start but immediately disappear in the Windows Task Manager. The application logo does not show up, the application cannot be started. Any clues?

It is not an antivirus/firewall issue...

Thanks!

Good job, Joachim. I have already upgraded to latest version (but would stay with the earlier less sophisticated one if I had the chance.........)

Hello,

I am new here and had the same problem. But after installing and running in compatibility mode (windows 8), the program has been running normally. Maybe it will work for you too.

I am having the same issues. Searches that used to work now just hang...for hours... I have an annual subscription to the Basic package.

I see Tony from Technical Support responded privately via our messaging system. I have included a portion of his response below. To inquire further, our Technical Support team can be reached directly at support@copernic.com.

Unfortunately CDS 6 no longer works with Windows 11 24H2 and this has been confirmed by other users as well. Microsoft must have changed something that CDS 6 may have been using when it was programmed many years ago. There's nothing we can do about of this as CDS 6 is a deprecated product since 2017 and is no longer updated so we have no way of fixing an old product.

Because of this, our management put together a promotion for all of our CDS 6 users to ensure you can keep using our product and to thank you for their long-time partnership.

Hi, Jiri same here. The thing that I've noticed that the problems you discribed began after Windows 11 update to version 24H2! The Windows version causes a lot of trouble, but is pushed by Microsoft to it's users.
