First time use

When you enter Copernic Desktop Search for the first time, the software is in Free version. This version allows you to use Copernic Desktop Search with limited features. If you want to activate more features, such as Outlook emails or cloud files indexing, you must go to the Extensions window, using the Extensions menu item.

The Free version with limited features:

• Allows you to index up to 75,000 documents on your computer or network drives.
• Allows you to search content inside text based documents.
• Allows you to search web browser favorites and history.

The extensions allow you to enable different features to improve your search experience:

Mailer extensions:

• Microsoft Outlook extension allows you to search Outlook emails, attachments, appointments, contacts, tasks, notes and archives files (pst).
• IBM Notes extension allows you to search IBM Notes emails, attachments and contacts.
• Mozilla Thunderbird extension allows you to search Mozilla Thunderbird and Eudora emails, attachments and contacts.

The paid version:

Once at least one extension has been purchase, you NEED to import the license key provided by our sale partner Avangate to activate any extension:

• Import a license file
• Register a license key

Once at least one extension has been activated, Copernic Desktop Search will be in paid version. The paid version will enable these functionalities:

• Custom support.
• Commercial use.
• GPO deployment for business.
• No index limit (25,000 files).
