Select Outlook Plugin

Modified on Mon, 17 Apr, 2023 at 12:03 PM

The user is able to select which Outlook plugin will be used to index Outlook elements such as Emails, Organizers, Contacts and offline PST files.

You should keep the default Outlook plugin if you have no issue detecting or indexing your Outlook profile. Only change this option if detection or indexing has issues.

This option is only available if the Microsoft Outlook Extension is enabled in the Extensions Store.

Change the Selected Outlook Plugin:

    • In the Tools menu, click Options...
    • Select the Advanced tab.
    • In the Others section, select the desired element in the Select Outlook Plugin drop down menu.
    • Click Back to main view or Escape key to confirm and close the Options window.

  • Native Outlook plugin : This is the default setting. It allows to index most up-to-date Microsoft Outlook versions. See current supported versions on this page under the Microsoft Outlook / PST - Emails, Contacts and Organizer section.

  • Outlook complement : This allows the indexing of your Outlook profile through an Outlook COM service. It allows to index when the Native Outlook plugin is not working properly depending of your Outlook version. You might run into warnings in Outlook when using that plugin. Please refer to this Microsoft online article for more informations.

  • NetOffice Plugin : If none of the above plugins are detecting/indexing your Outlook profile properly, you might want to try the NetOffice plugin. It also support older versions of Microsoft Outlook.

NOTE: THE APPLICATION MUST BE RESTARTed TO ALLOW THE NEW PLUGIN TO BE FULLY ENABLEd. THE OLD OUTLOOK ITEMS INDEXED BY THE LAST PLUGIN WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE INDEX AND MUST BE REINDEX BY THE NEW PLUGIN.
