I can't open Microsoft Outlook anymore after I installed CDS. Why?

After I installed Copernic Desktop Search, I can't open Microsoft Outlook anymore.

By clearing and regenerating the Navigation Pane for the current profile of your Microsoft Outlook, you should be able to run it again.

Open the Run window in your Microsoft Windows start menu (All Programs > Accessories > Run).

  1. Type outlook.exe /resetnavpane
  2. Click Ok.

If that method does not work, please try this (For Outlook 2007 and 2010 only):

Open the Run window in your Microsoft Windows start menu (All Programs > Accessories > Run).

  1. Type regedit
  2. Locate: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER]\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem
  3. Delete the Profiles key under the Windows Messaging Subsystem key

For Outlook 2013 and up, follow the Microsoft troubleshooting guide:

I can’t start Microsoft Outlook or receive the error “Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook Window”
